17:00Hi Rex. What a week. I'm not sure about it being worth it.
17:09Sure, I guess the first week is bound to feel a little intense, but you are still getting to grips with the contest. Now I know you have your concerns but let me show you how worth while its been.
17:13Even though for few days it looked like you might struggle, you hit rule one's target. You locked in a the $1,000 for keeping the subscribers engaged.
17:21I have been really driven and invested in that one, it was a clearly achievable goal. And hitting that target the other night really made me feel good. Facing the game's challenges and showing everyone that I'm able to solve the problems thrown at me, that's where the real reward is. But a thousand dollars for a week on a new social media platform is not something I ever thought I could cash in.
17:24But the way the game keeps changing, the challenges it throws at me, it was fun for a while. but after last night I feel like its a trap set to make me share more than I ever intended.
17:26Don't be hasty, and dont feel paranoid. nobody is out to get you. Your slip ups were not prompted by the contest after all. Those lapses in judgement are down to you own habits and your investment in winning the money.
17:27Let me continue with the total for Rule 2.
17:27You didn't do so well with this one, but every little adds up. You have 21% of the $1000 assigned to this rule too. So you're going to land at least $210 which you can add to if you manage to pick up one more day of responses today.
17:27So my experience in the contest has scored me a little over twelve hundred dollars. I feel this is meant to feel like a lot, and I'm grateful, but for what I've shared this week, I don't know if this was really worth it.
17:36I hear you, this is understandable. But please remember we aren't asking you to share anything you're not choosing to post. That said I'm hoping our incentives can make you feel less disillusioned about the contest.
17:39Incentives? Well I'm pretty sure you need to come up with something to keep me playing.
17:42The first option we can offer you is to double the current prize pool.
17:48Does that mean you'd give me 2.5k, how does that work? Is there a catch?
17:55Yes, thats roughly the total you would get. If you agree to continue on in the contest, we would double your final prize pool from week one. This is part of the Double Rule option. Basically if you opt into this then we would double your weekly winnings and in exchange we'd take the number of rules you had in the previous week and double it.
17:57And I'll add that each of your weekly rules would come with the usual $1,000 prize pool. So you'd be in with a chance at winning $4,000 by the end of week two.
17:57What would the rules be? I don't know, if it's going to be worse than this week I'm not sure about this.
18:01Well I'm not at liberty to supply you with a list of rules ahead of the new week, especially before you have opted in. But as a guideline I'd say that the first two rules you had in week one were actually quite difficult. Compared to ones I've seen other contestants get.
18:06All the rules are procedurally generated, and the progress you have made is used to build your rules on. The rules you've got now will not apply any more, after all the name of the show is New Rule, so the high 90% target on engagement is almost certainly going to be lower, if you get a rule on that at all. And the response rule also will change.
18:08What about the Response error. I really can't ignore the fact that I'm getting locked out so much. It's really cost me so much. To be honest Rex thats one of the main reasons I want to quit. If the platform isn't stable, it feel so punishing to have to collect so many infringements.
18:09Ok. I hear that. I can't make any changes to the procedural algorithm, but I have heard from the team working on the app. They assure me that they are rolling out a set of updates. And you won't be facing the problem with the response lock-out as of tomorrow.
18:12And I'll throw in another free reset, so you can mitigate some of the infringements you might rack up from the response issue.
18:13So with that, and the offer of double the cash prize can I take it you're open to continuing the contest?
18:16Yes. Ok. I just want to feel that it's not rigged against me.
18:26I need you to state clearly that you will continue to play, and tell me if you're opting into the double rule incentive,
18:28Yes. Ok Rex. I will play for one more week. And I accept the Double Rule option. I tell you though if the rules spike in difficulty then I am not going to play on into week three.
